Our authorized personnel only signs are available in Danger, Warning, Caution and Notice headers, each corresponding to the respective level of hazard. The colors and backgrounds used for these headers, officially the ANSI-approved signal words, follow the guidelines set forth in the ANSI series.

Q. How do I decide what type of header I need with my Authorized Personnel Only sign?

Each header or signal word corresponds to a specific level of hazard and shall be used to that end.
1. DANGER should be used in the most serious situations, putting people in any kind of immediate danger leading to a serious injury or even death. The word should be written in white and surrounded by red.
2. WARNING should be used for a serious hazard that could cause a serious injury or death. It should be written in black and surrounded by orange.
3. CAUTION should be used for hazards that might cause minor to moderate injuries. It should be written in black and surrounded by yellow. Without a safety alert symbol, Warning signs can be used as Notice signs as well.
4. NOTICE is used for non-hazardous situations that don’t pose the risk of personal injury. Written in white and surrounded by blue, these convey things like instructions, safety equipment location, safety procedure, etc.
